Here is my 85 Chevy half ton with a really bad cracked frame. This happened from plowing and where the plow frame mounts. This stresses the horns of the frame and the weight of the plow causes them to crack. I had to pull the engine out for this repair. It took me a weekend to do this fix. After it was done I plowed with the truck for 5 more years without any problems.

Both sides of the frame were cracked just as bad.

Here is the frame lined up and welded. Not done yet.

Added some plates to the top that extends far forward.

Making a boxing plate to give the frame some more strength.

Welded plate to frame to box it in.

Added some extension plates to the plow frame to even out the load of the plow. This will be drilled and bolts added through the frame.

Putting the engine back in the truck.

Finishing up the job.
